A FEMTO Unlock, provided by Femto in Finland is a DME Unlock service.It's the sole unlock option globally for BMW cars produced after June 2020. All post-06/2020 vehicles need this unlock for any tuning.

Moreover, a DME Unlock of MEVD17.x.x and MG1 series computers enables OBD-based tuning, required for platforms like Bootmod3 (www.Bootmod3.com) and MHD (https://mhdtuning.com) via OBD Port. Bootmod3 and MHD work with this unlock but aren't obligatory for their tunes.

The need for a Femto Unlock stems from all BMW DMEs, shipped since June 2020, having an updated bootloader, which made OBD Flash Tuning with existing protocols impossible. Femto offers a solution with the mail-in Femto Unlock service, enabling OBD Flash Programming.

BMWs and Supras with an ECU (Engine Control Unit) manufactured after June 2020. If you want to tune these vehicles, you need an unlock from Femto to unlock the DME (Digital Motor Electronics) or ECU, allowing you to modify its settings and parameters.

When shipping your dme please include your name and your vin in the box as well as if you will be doing bm3/mhd/mg.

For the cloning option you will have to provide the clonable ecu, we do not provide it! 

The process takes 10 business days from start to finish.

• You're provided with a shipping label to send us the locked ECU.
• We check your ECU to confirm it's Post-June Locked.
• Your locked ECU is then hand delivered to FEMTO in Finland.
• FEMTO performs their unlock service on the ECU.
• Once we arrive back the ECU will be shipped to you.

You'll receive your original ECU unlocked and ready to tune with MHD/BM3/ MG Flasher

For the unlock you must mail in your ECU to us first. You can email us once your order is placed and we will email you the shipping to mail in the ECU. As of right now we cannot guarantee any turnaround time, it will take at least 10-14 business days.
